Dan Abrams
Vocalist Dan Abrams joined the band in 2016. Originally from Telford in Shropshire, he moved to Oxfordshire in 2007. Even though he has been involved in music and the arts his entire life, 13 Burning is the first band he has been in.
Heavily influenced by Power metal, his favourite bands are Dragonforce, Symphony X, Dio, Helloween, Iron Maiden, Beast in Black, Brothers of Metal, Sabaton, Yngwie Malmsteen, Rhapsody of Fire etc....
LEAD GUITAR
Phill Millward
Phill is the guitarist and founding member of the band.
The Band was formed with the pretence of "Fuck it, I'm just going to write music that I like"
and so 13 Burning was born.
With musical influences from Sabbath, Maiden, Judas Priest, Primal Fear to name a few, Phill's mission is for 13 Burning to keep classic metal alive.
BASS
James Pelley
Bassist James, from Oxford, has been playing the bass guitar from the age of 15, always jammed on and off in bands. The first time he heard Metallica’s ‘One’ he knew the path he needed to take!
Influences are Steve Harris from Iron Maiden, Cliff Burton/Jason Newsted from Metallica, Steve DiGiorgio from Death/Testament, Geezer Butler from Black Sabbath, Troy Sanders from Mastodon, David Ellefson from Megadeth and many many more!
DRUMS
Andy Bull
Andy officially started playing the drums at age 11 although it was always destined to be as he (allegedly) would beat the hell out of his Mum's pots and pans with wooden spoons as a toddler.
Andy had one term of lessons in secondary school but otherwise he is self taught.
Throughout his formative years, Andy dabbled with other instruments too and played rhythm guitar and bass in bands before settling on the drums as his main instrument. Andy has always been better at hitting things than anything else.
"I've played in various cover bands and original material bands over the years. It's always been rock or metal though. During the late 90's I was playing with Legendary Oxford metallers 'Mindsurfer'. We played in and around Oxford and were regarded as Oxford's best metal band at one point. Highlights with Mindsurfer were the 'Truck Festival' and the Oxford Punt.
After a few years back in covers bands and officially on 'Dad Duty', I joined up with Coventry based Metal Band 'Scattering Ashes'. During the 7 years I was with them we recorded 2 albums which were widely critically acclaimed and were number one in the 'Reverb Nation' metal charts for many months. Highlights with Scattering Ashes were getting to the final of Metal to the masses twice and playing at Download in 2016. I can officially say I have played on the same bill as Rammstein, Black Sabbath & Iron Maiden to name but a few."
